Bangor Man Heeds Lifesaving Heart Health Advice
“I was having chest pain off and on for two days in early May. I hoped
it was indigestion and took an antacid, but the pain didn’t go away.
The next day at work, I heard a radio commercial from Lehigh Valley
Hospital. It said, ‘If you have chest pain, go to the ER. Don’t be
embarrassed if it’s indigestion. It’s better to be safe than sorry.’
It seemed like that ad was speaking directly to me…and I got the
message. My wife drove me to Lehigh Valley Hospital that afternoon. I
know they have a great heart program.
In the ER, tests showed Sean Pandey, M.D., that something was wrong
with my heart. In the cardiac cath lab I learned one of my arteries was
almost completely shut, causing a heart attack. William Combs, M.D.,
opened the artery with a tiny balloon and put in two stents to hold it
open.
Now I’m back to work and golfing, and I feel great. It could have been much worse if I hadn’t gotten the care I needed.
If you’re having chest pain, get it checked out. You won’t be sorry.
I’m glad I went to Lehigh Valley Hospital for my heart care. I think
they saved my life.”
